Aspen Comics promised the biggest event in Fathom’s 15 year history and they aren’t kidding.  I said in my review of the first issue that this creative team is showing something brand new in Aspen’s world and that fact is ratcheted up in issue two.  After all of her battles there is little left in the world that could shake Aspen Matthews.  However even the most experienced warriors will always have trouble dealing with the innocent and the unknown.  Aspen has both of these plus blasts from the past to worry about.

With the arrival of Kira in this issue the number of groups continue to rise.  I’m going to call it now, this will be Aspen Comics’ Game of Thrones.  I’m counting at least 4 or 5 agendas so far and every one of them has an army (or in the case of Aspen and Kiani, is an army).  Plus even more groups that are only mentioned but I feel could show up at any time.  This series will lead into the new Fathom comic and if things continue at the current pace we’re all in for a battle.
