This is bound to be one of the most action packed issues of a comic for all of 2013. Aspen and Kiani are reluctantly back to back against their mutual enemy Taras. That was set up last issue and this is nothing but chases and battles. The action is framed with some fantastic captions that explore the history of these characters. Even long time fans of Fathom will discover so much about their favorite characters. All of this is thanks to incredible work of this team. The writers know these characters as well as their own partners. The motivations, the drives, the morals — all of it is palpable through the pages.
This weekly series has been one of the best ideas from Aspen Comics. By coming out weekly the story has extra power, extra passion and readers like myself have an extra desire to dive into the next issue and find out where this battle will go next.
In fact the next spot I should go is to the final issue. Sorry for the quick review but the desire to see how this comes to an end is too strong.
